Volume II, Issue 1
August/September 2010
Help us build awareness of EVA by forwarding the EVA eNews to your family, friends and neighbors!

Dear EVA Supporters,

It is hard to believe that one year has gone by since my first EVA eNewsletter. We are now into Volume II.

Sticking to my plan for August, I finished reorganizing my office. I even moved all the open shelves with event supplies to an off-site location, making the office neater and giving me more space to open up to the public. Stop by and visit me anytime.

I have also finished working on my first annual campaign. It went in the mail last week and on September 30th, we will be holding our 2010 Annual Meeting. I hope you will join us at the Annual Meeting and be a donor to my first Annual Appeal Campaign.

As we move into the months ahead, I will be focused on the Fall Green Up Day, 2011 Strategic Planning, Hometown Holidays and EVA's role in the celebration of Enfield's 250th Anniversary next July.

It has been a wonderful year. I have met some terrific new people and I have rekindled relationships with some old Enfield friends. I have found people do really care about "keeping the good things happening" in Enfield. I am so proud to be part of such a tight-knit community. I want to thank everyone who has touched my life. Thank you for supporting me and EVA.

Sincerely,

Thanks for reading our EVA eNews. Because everyone does not get it, as an "insider", please help us by passing along the word that we have just begun our Annual Campaign...and to please watch for the letter that is coming. We need all the financial support we can get...even if it is just a small donation!

Fall Historic Walking Tours
Join EVA and the Heritage Commission

In celebration of Enfield Village being named to the National Register of Historic Places, the Enfield Village Association in conjunction with the Heritage Commission, will offer Fall Walking Tours of the Village beginning September 12th. Tours will begin at 2:00 pm on Sundays at the info kiosk at the municipal parking lot on Main Street running through October 14th (weather permitting).

As Enfield begins preparation to celebrate it's 250th anniversary, come learn more about the local history, beautiful architecture, and the town's interaction with the Shakers. Enfield is the largest historic district in the State. Chartered in 1761 and settled in the decades following, Enfield Village included a number of mills that relied on waterpower from the Mascoma River which winds down through the village into Mascoma Lake. Free, donations appreciated.

The Enfield Village Association is pleased to announce it will open its office in the Copeland Building as an Information Office and welcomes visiting tourists, residents, local business people or anyone relocating to the area seeking information about Enfield and the surrounding areas. The official opening was September 21st.

The office will stock local business and service (lodging, dining, cultural, public and recreational) materials.

Initially, the office will be opened on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 4 with plans to extend to Saturdays and Sundays with volunteer support from Noon to 4. Anyone interested in volunteering, contact eva@interdial.net and put "Volunteer in the Information Office" in the subject line of the email or call (603) 632-7197.
