Keep the good things happening...
Volume I, Issue 1
February/March 2010

Dear EVA Supporters,

First of all, I want to apologize for the delay in distributing our February e-newsletter. Because I have been busy working on the launch of our Shaker 7 Road Race program, I have decided to combine the February and March issue this time.

For more information on the Shaker 7 Road Race, check out the quick link included on the right. I am interested to hear your input, and I hope you sign up to run or volunteer the day of the event. If you are interested in volunteering, let me know. This is one of EVA's major fund raisers that supports our yearly operating budget, and we need your help to make it one of our best races yet.

Speaking of fund raising: Mickey's Roadside Cafe has agreed to work with us on a fundraiser on St. Patrick's Day. For every beer sold (green if you like), Mickey will donate $1 to EVA. Mickey will also be serving the classic "boiled corn beef and cabbage" for $9.99. Stop in, support EVA and Mickey's while having a fun time on March 17th.

Sincerely,

EVA Celebrates 10 years of Positive Impact
to the town of Enfield

EVA recently hosted a group of over 75 supporters, including two of our Selectmen, Donald Crate and John Kluge, and the Town Manager, Steve Schneider, in the Copeland Block at 56 Main Street in Enfield to celebrate our 10th Anniversary Year and formally introduce EVA's new executive director and two new board members.

Lee Carrier, President of EVA welcomed the guests and recapped EVA's ten years of positive impact to the Town of Enfield.

He said, "In the ten years EVA has operated, twelve (12) new businesses have been opened on Main Street creating thirty (30) jobs and to date fifteen (15) façade grants to property owners have been awarded, appreciating the properties to $763k with an incremental tax gain to the Town of Enfield of over $20,000 a year.

He ended saying that, "Going forward in 2010 EVA's focus will be to continue beautification on Main Street particularly in light of Enfield's upcoming 250th Anniversary in 2011, and we will continue to drive Economic Development."

Creating custom graphic design!

Lasting Impressions Graphic Studio was established in 1979 by Betsey Child and in July 2007, Betsey opened her studio in Enfield in the Hewitt House. She works directly with individual customers to create a unique "look" for all their advertising, printing and marketing products. She can guide customers from the initial concept, through the design, typesetting and layout, and right through the printing and publishing process. Her projects include logo design, marketing brochures, flyers, posters, ads, newsletters, booklets, stationery, and more. No business is too small or too large for her services.

From her office in the Hewitt House Betsey is close to downtown where she can walk to the bank, the post office, the hardware store, a restaurant, the library and many other businesses. She recommends Enfield to anyone coming from outside as a place to look for space. She says, "Enfield is a business-friendly town with lovely surroundings and a small-town atmosphere with big ideas!"

Betsey is happy to have found a real home for her business in Enfield and we are happy to have Betsey here. EVA has benefited from her expertise on many occasions. Most recently Betsey did all the design, layout and printing of the Enfield Businesses and Services Directory. She also just finished working on the Mascoma Lake Association's new brochure. Both excellent examples of her work.

Betsey looks to EVA to be a "connecting agent" in introducing her business to others in Enfield. She also says, "it has been a good social avenue, helping me to make new friends."

If you are a business in Enfield with graphic needs, check out her "First time Customer Welcome Discount" coupon at the bottom of this newsletter. No doubt, you will benefit from her marketing experience.
