Fall is in the air, and the change in seasons mean the Enfield Village Association is focusing on fall and winter activities. Thanks to your support we have a full calendar of events each year!
Our Beautification Committee has just posted scarecrows in front of Enfield businesses and on the Rail Trail. This program has expanded town wide as other residents join in. After a long dry summer keeping our Main Street gardens beautiful, this committee will soon be focused on installing the holiday lights downtown.
Our Events Committee is preparing for Hometown Holidays on December 3rd. This committee also hosts many different events throughout the year including: “Meet the candidates night”, Green Up Day before the Memorial Day parade, Shaker 7 Road Race, and participating in the Old Home Days.
Throughout the year, EVA’s monthly Business Coffees provide local business people an opportunity to network and showcase their businesses. Our Economic Development Committee is also preparing to send out an updated Business Directory.
EVA’s signature accomplishment this year was the completion of the renovation of the historic Greeley House. A new family is now living downtown in a modern, energy efficiency, new apartment and EVA has permanent office space at 3 Shaker Hill Road. The Greeley House committee has outdone themselves with this project, meeting twice a month for over 3 years, in addition to hundreds of hours of volunteer labor.
This year EVA partnered with the Town of Enfield and the Mascoma Lakeside Park Committee to support and develop the new Lakeside Park to provide small boat access, rail trail access and picnic space for the whole community.
We are excited to announce that we are now an all-volunteer office that allows us to have regular office hours, reduce overhead and to expand our program activities.
All of these activities require hundreds of hours of volunteer time. Thanks to the strength of our dedicated volunteers your financial support goes so much farther.
With your help, Enfield Village Association can make even greater progress next year. Please donate today to our annual appeal to see our past efforts continue, and to see our new projects yet to come!
